About Our Bulk Roasted And Salted Pistachios
Pistachios are native to regions of Central Asia and the Middle East. Humanity has enjoyed them for their high nutritional value for thousands of years. The earliest records of Pistachios that archaeologists have uncovered date back to 6,750 BCE. Since then, these seeds have been brought to Australia, Europe, and, more recently, California. Today, the leading producers of Pistachios are Turkey, Iran, and the United States.
Storage
These pistachios will stay fresh in a dark, cool place in your refrigerator for up to three months. However, we recommend freezing your pistachios, for in the freezer, they will keep for up to 12 months.
Nutrients
Our bulk roasted and salted pistachios are dense with essential nutrients. They contain large amounts of dietary fiber, like most nuts and seeds. Also, it provides significant amounts of thiamin, B vitamins, protein, and several other dietary minerals. Furthermore, pistachios are a great vitamin E, calcium, and B5 source.
A 2008 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported the effects of two levels of daily pistachio intake, 1 ounce (28.4 g) and 2 ounces (56.7 g), on cardiovascular disease markers. Their findings are that pistachios significantly lower cholesterol levels and raise the level of a protective lipoprotein at both intake levels. However, the higher intake level had an even more pronounced effect.
