The Naturally Fit Super Show is the world’s premier natural pro and amateur bodybuilding competition. The show takes place every year in Austin, Texas. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, June 23, at the Round Rock Performing Arts Center in Austin. The show will include up to $63,000 in prizes throughout the event. The Naturally Fit Federation (NFF) also holds professional bodybuilding, bikini, and pro physique competitions throughout the year.
In addition to bodybuilding competitions, the Naturally Fit Super Show also includes shows awarding Physique, Figure, and Men’s Physique. They also host Bikini Competitions as well as a Transformation Competition.
What is the Naturally Fit?
The production of the show requires the support of various sponsors. One of them being Wholesale Nuts and Dried Fruit. They offer natural, protein-packed dietary options such as walnuts, mango, almonds, apricots, and more. These packages will be awarded to the competitors, judges, and administration.
How Did Naturally Fit Start?
Naturally, Fit was founded in 2007 by David Lee Nall. Since then, it has grown into something much more than he originally had planned. Nall began his career in the fitness industry in 1995 as a personal trainer. He eventually moved on to managing a variety of health clubs. His first leading role came when he became the president of a franchise company. In 2007, with all of this relevant experience behind him, Nall launched Naturally Fit. Nall remains a fitness model and competitive athlete to this day.
Natural Fit Federation
After its launch, Naturally Fit soon grew into the Natural Fit Federation. Its’ overall mission was to give athletes a chance to compete in drug-free competitions at nearly half the cost of other federations. They also avoided the restrictions that many other federations have for their competitors.
Naturally Fit Agency
The Naturally Fit Agency is another entity under the Naturally Fit umbrella. The agency provides pro-athletes representation within the industry through the expertise of leading natural fitness buffs. The focus is on advancing careers and doing so ethically and safely. The Naturally Fit Agency helps its clients find modeling gigs in commercials, print advertising, promo modeling, and other relevant projects. Models from the agency have been on features in advertisements for Nike, Runner’s World Magazine, and more.
The Naturally Fit Transformation Competition
One of the largest body transformation events in Texas is the Naturally Fit Transformation Competition. The competition allows contestants to share their journey to becoming naturally fit.
Contestants face the judges, that study the magnitude of each contestant’s fitness transformation. Interestingly, competitors must submit their “before” pictures when registering several months before the competition. The fact that they register and submit their “before” photo at the same time serves as motivation for many competitors. The implicit message is that they must push themselves to obtain outstanding results if they wish to stand a chance at the competition.
Transformation Competition Point System
Competition rules state that the “before” and “after” photos comprise 30% of 100 points. The NFF strongly recommends having a professional photographer take the “after” photos for the best possible results. Competitors must also submit a 250-word essay on their transformation journey, which can contribute another 20% to their total scores.
The competitors’ stats must include total weight loss but can also include circumference and body fat percentage measurements. This contributes the remaining 50% to the competitors’ total score.
Anyone who has competed as a professional bodybuilder or fitness contestant is ineligible for this specific competition. This contest has a design for those that may work in the field but do not consider themselves professionals.
Over $3,000 in prizes is the cash reward to those who win the Transformation Contest. Winners also earn a full-ride scholarship to become personal trainers and an additional scholarship that the winner can gift to another person. Finally, they will receive a free box of healthy dried fruits and protein-packed nuts from Wholesale Nuts And Dried Fruit.
Keeping Naturally Fit Drug-Free
The Naturally Fit Company is serious about keeping its competitors and federation members honest. They are dedicated to ensuring that everyone associated with them has achieved their fitness through natural means.
The NFF bans the use of illicit performance-enhancing substances, regardless of the reason for use. If any competitor or federation member is found using one of the substances being banned, they are dismissed from NFF competitions. They will face a suspension from NFF membership for seven years.
These banned substances include anabolic steroids, prescription hormone medication, growth hormones, and many more. You can see the full list of the NFF’s banned substances here.
Competitor Requirements
Before competing in a Naturally Fit contest, all competitors must submit a polygraph test. This ensures that they have not used performance-enhancing drugs. Contestants may only opt out of the test if they’ve taken an NFF polygraph test in the 90 days before another competition.
In addition to the polygraph test, all NFF pro-qualifying winners and professional division athletes undergo a urine test. This detects drugs in their system and disqualifies them from the competition.
Leveling the Playing Field for Competitors
NFF upholds such stringent standards and rules because it creates a fair and level playing field. The NFF has tighter requirements than any other fitness federation; its success depends on it in many ways. If there were a discovery at any point that a winning competitor used performance-enhancing drugs, the NFF would lose all credibility as a drug-free athletic organization.
The NFF’s drug ban goes beyond competition; to remain part of the NFF, all pro-qualifying winners must remain free of illegal performance-enhancing drugs for seven years. The lengths to which the NFF goes to keep drugs out of their competition demonstrates the company’s seriousness in preventing performance-enhancing drug use.
